Step 1: Make Up Your Mind

The first thing that you should do before taking up any task is to make up your mind. If you don’t have the will to do anything, for sure you’d end up not doing anything.

You must make it your habit. When you decide to start running, you will be excited and do it for a day or two. Later, you will slowly lose interest and later give it up!

This happens not only with you but everybody. So you need to relax and make up your mind. You need to be stern and decide not to give up at any cost once you take up the task – i.e. running in this case.

This is the most important step. Before you get started and actually get into it, you must always make a plan. You have to fix a schedule as to what you are going to do on a particular day and make a note of it.

Step 3: Start Small – Running For Beginners

Do not attempt to run 10 kilometers on the very first day. It is not practical. It requires a lot of stamina. If you are new to running, you are, most probably, not going to have the stamina required for running such a long distance.

If you attempt running such a long distance at once, you might end up collapsing. I’m not trying to get you scared, but I just want you to know that you cannot do everything at the first attempt.

Step 4: Do Not Give Up

Once you start running, you will feel very good and excited on the first day. You might do it the second day as well. But as days pass, you will gradually lose interest and get lazy. Then you might skip a day or two. After a few days, you will quit.

This is the case with most of the people. Most of us start things but lose interest gradually and end up quitting.

To make sure you are not among these, you must make sure you stick to your plans, always. You must not give up at any cost. Whenever you feel like giving up, you should always remember what you will be after you accomplish your goal.

When you realize your life after you accomplish your dreams, you will get motivated and energized. It will stop you from giving up.
